Wallties

Wallties are used to anchor the Brick Veneer to the structure.  Often the brick appears to be part of the foundation, but in a structure that is made of wood, the brick is actually a veneer that is supported by the building.

Many of the older buildings were built without using Wallties. Often large nails were used with the end of the nail protruding into the mortar joint between the bricks in a effort to anchor the Brick Veneer to the structure.
